Participate in a study of language and
learning in Noonan syndrome!
Families of children and young adults with Noonan
syndrome ages 1-25 are invited to participate in a research study to investigate
communication and literacy in NS. This research is being conducted by Rene
Pierpont, M.S., as part of a doctoral dissertation at the University of
Wisconsin.
Individuals ages 1-3:
Parents of infants and toddlers with NS can participate in this research by
filling out a set of questionnaires about their child’s language development and
learning. These questionnaires take about 45-60 min. to fill out and can be
completed through the mail. Families will receive $15 upon completion of the
questionnaires.
Individuals ages 4-25:
Children and adolescents can be involved in this study by participating in a set
of activities involving communication and learning. The activities will include
things like listening to sentences, talking about your interests, reading
letters or words, and answering questions. The research takes about 2-3 hours
for each child/adolescent in the study and must be completed at one of our
research sites. Currently we have 4 different research sites across the USA.
Parents will also be asked to fill out a set of questionnaires to supply further
information, which takes about 30 minutes. Families will receive $50 for
completing the study.
Families may contact the researcher directly to enroll
in one of the studies:
