My daughter Salem was an IVF baby and surviving triplet. She was one of the identical. She survived. I had severe high blood pressure, polyhydramnios and fetal loss.
She was born 3 weeks early and we she had trouble nursing. We couldn't get her to latch. So we pumped by even with finger feedings she wouldn't eat much - less than an ounce at a feeding. She lost a lot of weight so we were back and forth at the doctors offices until she was 10 weeks when he heard a heart murmur. Even though she was losing weight she had good muscle tone. She was born at 7'4 and didn't weigh 9 pounds till weeks. She saw the cardiologist at 16 weeks and was diagnosed with a murmur, pulmonary stenosis and HCM. We started a beta blocker and within days she was eating 16-20 oz a day (we had been struggling to get 10-12 ounces down her).
She has grown well. She's small - 36 inches and 30 pounds at 5. They say she will be 36 inches. She has an articulation defect and has been in speech since 2 1/2. She is also in PT for upper body strength issues and her feet turn in.
I also have Raina - 2 1/2 - she doesn't have NS. I have a stepdaughter who is 17 and an adopted daughter who is 18. We live in West Texas where we own a lawn maintenance company and my husband is a pastor at a local church.
